Has anyone found a source of tubing for replacing the oil lines on Yamaha sleds? The oil lines on the 2000 SRX are pretty hard, no longer being flexible. I am replacing the oil pump as part of a complete engine rebuild (13,000 miles) and will be replacing all of the oil lines. I just ordered the OEM tubing in pieces as per the parts diagram, $30 for about 20" of tubing. The tubing Yamaha uses has a thicker wall than the urethane tubing used for fuel and vent lines. I have 3 more sleds I am rebuilding so it sure would be nice to find a supplier of the right quality tubing.
Thanks!!

I bought some fuel line for my 2000 SRX from a local lawnmower/small engine shop. It's supposed to remain flexible even at -20f. Only problem is that it was $20 for 6'.

I am not as much worried about the flexibility at very low temps as I am the aging of the hose due to contact with the oil. It would be a disaster for the oil lines to react badly with the oil and become very brittle. Maybe I am just better off using the OEM lines for peace of mind.

sometimes when I see someone trying to save a few pennys on something as important as the life line of the engine, I ask myself, whats cheaper the few cents you saved from buying something cheaper then what came on it or the total engine failure associated with the loss due to the failure of the part you saved a few cents on?? seems like a no brainer to me...... .

Hi Don,
I agree completely that is why I only use OEM parts and when in doubt with the condition of a part during a repair I always opt for using a new part. I ordered the OEM tubing set last night. Not worth the risk.

if its a engine related important "life line" part, I never use a cheaper inferior item, like crank seals, rings, pistons, oil lines, etc. Theres other places you can save a few bucks on a sled but not life line parts. In all the years and engines I have done, never once yet had a seal failure, line failure, etc using the yamaha parts.......(knock on wood).....lol
