Do the springs in the primary clutch and the driven clutch require replacement with age and mileage? I have 13,000 miles on my 2000 SRX, replacing every part that is not within the wear limits. I've replaced the stock bushings in both clutches with oil-lite bushings, checked all the other components, given every part a good cleaning and polished the surface of the clutch faces on a lathe with 320 grit sandpaper. I may opt to install the inexpensive clutch setup which uses the helix from an RX-1 but the same question would apply to any used springs.

Thanks!

Jim

for the price of them i would replace them after time .......sure they will change rate with time

I just replaced my original springs at nearly 12000 miles just because when I rebuilt my clutches this fall. The bushings looked a bit worn, especially in the primary.I'm anxious to try it out with everything freshened up if it ever snows:-p

OK, thanks for the replies. It is easy enough to take the springs out of the clutches at the end of the season. That will become part of my end of season prep routine.

Thanks!!
