So since there is no snow i have been doing alot of putsin on the sled. I inspect the clutches all the time for play in the bushings, slide buttons, rollers, wieghts. The part that i dont know is how much is too much. Seems to me that even a new clutch has play in the slide buttons and bushings. So how do you guys tell if it needs new parts? I know the rollers should be free spinning, but not be able to move up and down on the pin. Same with the wieghts i assume. So i guess looking for more info on the bushings and slide buttons.
What about the secondary? Anything other than the helix buttons and bushing to look at?
Hope it snows soon!

if the primary clutch engages and disengages smoothly, the bushings are probaly o.k. the bushing in the sliding sheave seems to be more critical than the one in the cover. they are purposely made relatively soft so they will wear, instead of the surface of the shaft that the spider is integrated into. there are 3 pairs of slide buttons in the primary. 1 in each set wears much faster than the other one because of the force applied due to the resistance offered by the belt having to drive the track, and the sliding sheave moving in and out at the same time. not sure, but the secondary clutch bushings may tend to hold up better. 3 buttons in secondary wear at the same rate.
