I just purchased a rear skid from an 03' Rage RX1 (136"). I have not been able to find measurements for hole relocation on the tunnel. Anybody know? Also, I am going to need to setup my front end for this as well. What's best? I have found alot about viper shock on an SRX. Suggestions?

So, I just learned that this skid has no more travel than my srx skid. I just ordered a kit from Tom to extend my tunnel and rails. However, I do still have this skid with 136" rails. Does anyone know if there is an advantage to relocating skid mounting holes to use this 136" skid? If not, it seems a whole lot easier to put Tom's rail extensions on. Any comments?

Rail extensions would be the quick easy way to upgrade, unless you want to have the factory 1 piece 136" rails.

is there any advantage to having a stock 136" rail setup?

Some people are scared of the bolt on extensions, but I have seen them hold up to a lot of abuse no problems at all. I have a set on a sled here and also have a 136" stock skid that I never took the time to install because of having to relocate and drill, changed to a 136" mono out of an Attak now.

I would use the 136 rails if you have them available. They will move the rear mount point back & make the suspension operate like it should. Rail extensions put more leverage on the 121 mount location, And make it ride worse. IMO anyway.

I've been asking lots of questions about this set up. I think I am going to install the 136" rails so the suspension operates as it was built to. How do you like the mono setup? Is it a 136"? I'm wonder how close the mounting holes are for that mono compared to the older style 136" I have. I almost went with that setup. I guess I could always do a mono setup on my o1' SRX if I like the 136" skid on this build. Thanks for the help.

All of the Proaction 136 skids are long travel. I have had 3 of them in my Viper and I also own an 01 Venture. I would install the Proaction and get the shocks revalved for your weight and riding style. I have Ohlins in the Viper and revalved Viper shocks on the Venture. When propely installed and the right shock setup, the 136 Proaction is a pretty good riding skid. With rail extensions on your short travel skid, all you're doingis creating more footprint It'll help bridge the bumps and hook up better, but will still be a short travel skid.
