:letitsnow My brothers 01 srx when it sits for more than a month there is excessive oil in the bowls it wont start. If i drain the bowls she will start i'm wondering if it is the check valves leaking or the oil pump. The sled has over 20000 kms.Maybe i should change both.Wondering if anyone else had this problem.

Gas evaporates, oil doesn't so after time it could look like more oil then gas. Do a search for hard starting SRX and you will find great info. Click HERE . Take the choke plungers out and file 1mm off of them and it will start much easier!

There are a lot of people that have problems with hard starting and the 1mm seems to make a big improvement. Also to see about too much oil, you should use about 1 quart or so per tank of gas. If you are using more then that check out the oil pump adjustment.

My 02 Viper does the same thing, it's really bad after summer storage. I'm guessing it's the check valves. I'm assuming they are spring loaded checks. I just make sure I start it every once an awhile in the winter. And in the summer it's added engine protection!
