I am going to be helping a bud put the stator back on his 800MXZ but we need some torque specs for the associated bolts like the stator mount bolts and flywheel nut and the recoil bolts.I know that we could kind of go by a rule of thumb torque given the size of the bolts,ie 8mm bolts require x amount of torque and no more than y,that sort of thing but we'd like to have the appropriate numbers to go by.

I'm thinking they are the same engine so it should be the same torque specs. If you can get me the ones I need that'd be great.

this for the 02 mxz's(actually had that one): flywheel nut 77ft lbs(fan cooled) 92 ft lbs (liquid).
no specs given for the recoil nor stator bolts so your back to your original theory. although on the smaller sleds like the skandic it showed the recoil bolts at 195 inch lbs.
also mentioned to coat all the electrical connections with dialectric except the deutsch housing(the waterproof gray housing) as well as the obvious blue loctite on all bolts.
i could mail you the manuals from 02 on cd if your interested.

That would be great I'm sure my bud would like to have some tech reference material for the MX Z series sleds.

this one covers all 2002 ski-doo sleds. not as easy to navigate as the yamaha ones, but not a bad investment. just need covered on shipping. pm me if your interested.
