viper base gasket,bad news?

on the vipers base gasket i noticed that the three cut outs for the water jacket in the front of the motor are all different sizes. when i replaced it i put it back as it came out,with the larger one to the far left hand side(mag). but now i am wondering after looking at micro fisch on a parts site if i put it in right or not or does it even matter. i hope i dont have to take it apart again. some help on this would be much appreciated.
 

most base gaskets have a notch on them with will identify which way there are flipped and pointing towards mag side.If I remember correctly I had am issue with my base gasket and there was a v notch and the manual tells you which way to place it.
 
i dont remember seeing any markings on the base gasket. i ordered another one so i could have a look at it befor i take it apart if need be. the top end has been apart befor by the previous owner thats why i put it back that way.wish i looked into it befor hand. but i also wonder if he had done this for a reason maybe. better cooling for the mag side cylinder maybe. has anyone seen this befor.
