I have a 07 ER with 10K. Its been a great machine with little or no problems except for the following:
Exhaust repaired twice
Suspension welds
Eats wheels and sliders (added a fourth wheel and larger suspension wheels for this season- we'll see how it goes)
Studded stock track blew up at 9500 miles
(That cost me a heat exchanger repair)

Here is my question-
First ride this season, the sled is overheating with regularity. Low snow conditions and temps in the mid 20's have NEVER been a factor.
Any ideas???
Coolant level is good and steady (no loss)
Heat exchangers are HOT
Hoses are hot and appear to be consistent (same temp- one not hotter than the other)

Rode with an 08 Vector LTX with basically the same set up and no overheating issues?

Thanks in advance.

hey chris you should probably register and post this on the 4-stroke side. there are guys here that can help you but being this is the smoking section you'll get more help on the 4 stroke side

Do you have a rear heat excahnger on the sled?

How different is the profile of the new track?

Did you change the ride height of the rear of the sled?

Did you change the snow flap on teh rear of the sled?

I ask these questions because the clearance between the track and the snow flap determines how much snow is carried by the track to the front heat exchanger. The front heat exchanger handles the majority ofthe engine cooling. A lower profile track, with a shallower lug height track with a shorter snow flap results in much less snow being transferred to the front heat exchanger. A rear exchanger gretaly helps with cooling.

The larger dia. bogie wheels will greatly help reduce your hyfax wear. I added the bogie wheel repositioning kit from Pioneer, it lowers the stock wheels by 2 mm, and I easily get 5000 miles on a pair of hyfax.
