Didn't even think of that, Snowdad your probably right. But then I have never blown a clutch like that either. Heat and cracks probably was the culprit.
 
Looks to me that mommy and daddy have more money than the kid knows what to do with by looking at the rest of his vids
 
It looked like a 98. Those sheaves are thinner and prone to cracking. The spring looks like a Coolant hose protector and maybe his hose under thr secondary got taken out too
 
what can I say...sh*t happens...but calling a Yamaha a POS..now that is going just a little to far I think.Perhaps he was talking like that because it happened in front of his doo buddies..probably daddy's sled and he would get a whooping when he got home.

Hey Blue, havent been on here in a while we been getting hit so hard with a ton of snow, Nice post!!!, maybe we should send him this picture from my week in the Mountains.

My friends this day wouldn't even help tow our other friend out (exploded chaincase). They all complained that there ski-doo's were too good or had clutch issues, what a joke, I gladly towed him out, to make an example out of the ski-doos.
(sorry to get off topic).

When my chaincase blew to pieces on my 1978 Doo TNT..that was the day I decided to go to Yamaha and never looked back.Put the Doo on consignment and then went to my Yami dealer and picked up a brand new 78 440 Exciter..best move I ever did and am with Yamaha to this day...good reliable sleds Yami make.... ;)!
 
Isn't it better when towing another sled to have the rider ride double with you. Just asking because I have always heard that was easier on the towing sled.

Hes a Good guy thats just getting into backcountry riding, thats why when all his ski-doo friends rejected to help him, I was glad to tow him out, maybe we will see him again on a Yamaha next season.... time will tell.

On Trail's yes, in the Mountain's you need to be in control.
its 99% down hill, and the brake for some reason was not functioning.
So he used the "Freddy Flintstone" braking method.
I had to full speed downhill tow, so the sled didnt run into the back end, he even used the sled similar to a dog sled to get part way down (should of had video of that).

I only posted the Photo to make examples of the Ski-doo riders that claimed there sleds were too good, they dont like riding with the older sleds, and there clutches were bad, there excuses went on..... The Yamaha was the hero today.

My only excuse was this could be hell with the engine brake and the summit having no brake, but I'll Do it!!!!
