I have an 04 Viper ER I just oicked up. It runs great, but doesnt like to come back down to an idle. I cleaned the power valves and adjusted them to about 3mm. The previous owner didn't run yamalube, so I'm running the old oil out and switching. Is it possible I have a sticky valve still? Is it better to be on the loose or tight side of adjustment? The sled is a rocket ship, but just doesn't like to idle down unless i bump the choke and then it will idle right down. Please help! I'm baffled...

Youe fuel screws need to be adjusted out more or piloits changed to the next size up.Heelclickers make the sled do this from the extra weight to compress the mamoth spring.

That might be it! It seems to do it more at running temp, and the sled has heelclickers in it! How much more do you think? 1/4 or 1/2 turn?

What are your fuel screws set at? Stock is 1 7/8 turns out from lightly seated. Usually bringing them out to about 2 turns helps with the idle hang. It really helped on my Viper. Too lean on the pilot circuit, hence why it takes care of the hang when you blip your choke lever. Have you gone through and cleaned the carbs. If you haven't, would be a good idea. Pilot jets are small on the these sleds and doesn't take much to clog em' up. Plenty of reading in the tech section and using the search feature at the top right of this page. Type in anything you want and most of your questions will be answered.
Of course feel free to ask away. We'll try to help.

No more than 2 turns out so it said so it is written! Try the search feature it will help you out with tons of posts of the same high idle deal.
Vipers work well with the healclickers just keep a eye on your pri clutch sheaves and replace when or if small cracks appear.

The carbs are all clean and in the stock settings. This will be a great place to start! Thanks for the help!

Why no more then two turns? I know too many they will fall out, but I see other posts where they go 2 1/4 or 2 1/2? I'm assuming better safe then sorry!

Ive ran mine as far as 2 1/2 on my piped viper, usually 2 1/4 worked to get rid of the hang. Ive see where they say no more than 2, 2 1/4 then you should just go up a jet size. Only reason i ever saw was the potential for the fuel screw to be able to back out on its own cause its so far out. I run my viper at 2 1/8 and keep the idle low around 1200. My other 2 seem just happy at 2 turns out and idle around 1500. They are all different.
