K guys sure this has been asked. Before. But my sled only has 650 miles. On t but granted it is still ten years old now.the front springs. Seem to be just about maxed out as in Max preload and there still isn't much total travel.I know everybody says go with the ohlins but just wondered if I could find a kyb spring or other that would be sufficient in good overall. Performance. Thanks for any input.

u can get them rebuilt/revalved to work better anyways. what year is it, 02s were the worst. the revalving alone makes quite a difference. hard to find ohlins these days anyways for vipers, so if you wanted something different there are people out there converting to fox floats and such.

I've tried various spring/shock set ups. The one i liked the best was a pair of black springs i got from hygear suspensions. They came off a rev but fit the shock none the less. The stock springs are good for groomed trail riding. I had the IQ springs on my sled (white springs), they came off a 440 iqr and they were WAY TOO stiff. Studders were terrible to ride through with this set up and big bumps with the sway bar in still rode terrible. The spring was just too stiff for anything but sno cross. the floats were nice but they were too long for my sled. If i had enough pressure in them the steering tie rod would bottom out on the bulk head and ruined my tie rod boots. I put the sway bar back in and the floats would flex the sway bar enough to rub on the trailing arm = BAD. So i ditched the floats and went back to the stocker KYB's with the black springs. Works great for me. The last picture is of my father's viper from back in the day haha. We put some firecat sno pro springs on it and that worked well too.
