I have a 2001 600sxr that i just clutched with the following.

8ab
.8 tip
2.4 heel
stock primary spring

Hauck 51/43 Helix
Green Secondary spring
80 degrees

The shift RPM is tits on 8500, it will run up to 8700 right as you punch it but settles into 8500 RPM in a second or three.

The engagment RPM is 4500 RPM, like it has always been. I just did this clutch set up, changing it from stock. I guess i don't see any huge changes in how it handles like i thought but i have only been able to drive it around the lake since it doesn't snow here in MN any more. To make a short story long, would i see any benefit in upping the engagment RPM to 4600 or 4700 by putting in a stiffer spring? I mostly do trail riding but like to feel the snap off the line as well.

Thanks

Ryan

higher engagement would be good if you do a lot of drag racing with a lot of studs for grip, for trails you are a little high.My SXR 600 engages around 4000ish.Don't even try testing your setup unless you are on good solid packed snow and then you will get a real good reading of what is happening. You are spinning out and probably over shifting the clutches. You should be launching to 8200 and slowly climb to 8500.May have to add more weight to the tip to get rpms down a bit while launching.

Once you get snow and test and come up with a good set up..let me know if it is any better then the stock set up.My 01 SXR600 is stock setup for now..wanna see if you can pu more top end speed with them weights you have.

yeah, i was on the lake so there probalby was a little track spin involved. I'll let you know next year when we might get some snow!!
