I have a 98 srx and i hit the lake today and the temp is like +3 out but was still able to pull 195 kpm.ya gotta love these sleds by far the best triple ever made. Yamaha should bring this motor back maybe put it in the phazer body.

I DISAGREE. THE BEST TRIPLE YAMAHA MADE WAS THE RED HEAD 700. 3:16 (yammie tony)

I agree, ive seen them with 20 000 miles without a rebuild...can polaris, ski doo or arctic cat say that?

However, i would love to drive a phazer with a srx motor in it...let me know when you get it done..lol. :letitsnow

Actually triple comment was directed as yamaha made the best triples but i do have to ask what would make the red head the better motor it lacks the power valves and is less stock hp.Dont misunderstand me im not being sarcastic i am just wondering what makes it the better motor?

Onyou tube there is a clip with a guy that has put a 700 triple in the new phazer body. The guy used the red headed triple and does it ever work well from the video i seen.

I also agree, only because of the power-valve maintenance (pull thru's / broken cable). I'll still keep mine till Yamaha comes out with something that perks my interest.
