Since I picked up my 97 Vmax 700, I've been hearing great things about the "red head" triple under the hood. I've even had some offers from local ice/grass drag racers who are only interested in the engine.

Was the Vmax 700 the only red head and was it only a couple of years? How rare are these engines?

97-04 they are in the sx, vmax, mountain max, venom, sxr not sure what yr had the pv motor in the venture they are a vary common motor vary easy to work on. And they where also in 600cc

not rare at all, just an all around great engine. bullet-proof, lighter than a powervalve engine, respond well to mods. lots of models had the red heads for the better part of a decade. not sure exact years but late 90's to mid 2000's. vmax, sx, sxr, mmax, venture. probably more

Yupper, cases and cranks same from 600 to 700. Difference is in jugs/pistons/carbs.
