Stop Leaking Rad Hose?

Hi everyone,

I found a small leak in the large hose that connects to the bottom of the coolant resovoir. The leak is a couple small cracks in the actual hose. What have people done and/or used to stop small leaks in the hose?

Sled is a 2002 Viper ER

I was thinking either a high temp silicone or possibly using something like a non-clogging Radiator Stop Leak product. Anyone have any success/failure stories or tips they could pass along?

just replace it before it bursts on you on a wot run and you get an engine burn down. Also got to check the coolant line that goes down to the water pump. They tend to wear at 1 point where the hose rubs the frame.Had to change mine on the SRX because it was getting thin in that spot and wasn't getting caught with all my coolant gone.

Don't waste you time and the very short sledding season on "ban-aids" that will likely let you down or do harm to your engine. The hoses do not cost much, change it and be done with it. While you are at it, you can drain, flush and refill the coolant system. Your sled will appreciate it!

If you really want problems, put that "stop leak" crap inthe coolant system and see what it does to your water impeller mechanical seal. You'll end up takingthe engine out to replace that seal.
