I installed a Fly riser...total height of just under 3" with the half of the stock bracket I kept in there.

But tried to check oil cable adjustment and to check the gap, I get anywhere from 5mm to 25mm measurement whether I leave the cable "at rest" or pull it apart by hand to measure...

Do you pull both sides of the cable back to measure that gap?

also...how would I know if brake cable were too tight?

Thanks!

Can anyone answer whether you pull apart the two sheaths with force to measure ?

Need to know if you are stretching the oil cable gap to its max to measure it, spec is 19mm to 21mm...

I need someone to help because I am leaving on a trip so if you know whether you pull those sheaths apart with your fingers to measure the oil cable gap I would appreciate it ...

Thanks. I read all that before, but if I measure that gap with not pulling it apart with my fingers I get 5mm....if I do it by pulling back both ends, I can set it to 19mm.

if this is out of spec and caused by my riser install, then I am gojng to be stuck on a trip havi.g to undo the riser install and handguards durinv my vacation..not fun..

If anyonr can answer my question above I would appreciate it..

To measure you pull them apart and measure the gap. Start at 19mm more oil and adjut gap up from their. You want to use a little over a quart of oil per tank of gas. About a 45:1 ratio. The viper cranks love/need oil. The post milo gave you is right on by daman. If your at 25 now how much oil do you use per tank? I would shorten that gap if you dont know. To check if your to high on your rise pull the oil cabe boot all the way up so you can see the cable adjuster where you measure gap. Then turn your bars all the way left and right. As long as the cabe does not pull apart at that spot you good. I run 3" on mine without any problems. I did have to take th break out of the gold clamp ring. Pulled when turnin left. If it pulls it taught take it out of that ring. Will buy you some slack.

Thanks Super1c
