New Track

I think that DuraSport is what a lot of guys use for top speed/grass drags. Low lug height so the studs stick out a lot. If youre going to put studs in it I think the board consencus is to use the 1" hacksaw or the 1" shotgun X (formerly Predator?). I think your best bet is to contact CB Performance and tell them youre a member of this board and ask how much their track would be. I think the last time I priced out a track thru them they were cheaper then everyone else.

Your sled came with a .92" lug and i would jump up to a 1" lug track.Theres several models to chose from depending on 1st how much money you want to spend and then riding needs.

kneedown...the shotgun x is a kimpex track and garbage imo.the camoplast predator is now called the carve.

I prefer the 121x15x1" hacksaw with studs.they hook awesome and really corner well.

Ok Awesome, thanks for the info.

I will not be using a kimplex track, I will look at something with a 1" lug. 1" lug will not interfere with my tunnel or heat exchanger protectors correct?

Thanks
Chris

Hi Guys

One other quick question, is it not better to have every window clipped instead of every 3rd window clipped? When comparing the carve and hacksaw in the lower right hand corner of the page, the hacksaw has every 3rd window clipped and carve every window clipped but the carve with every window clipped costs less money, why is that?

get the 1 inch Kimpex Traction from Royal..real nice track and good price..just replaced the one on my SRX with that one..

I found a brand new hacksaw with 144 gold diggers and backers all still in the packaging on craigslist for 400 bucks. The guy bought it for his SRX but he ended up totaling it and he also gave me a windshield, new slides and a 8dn belt with the deal. I would look on craigslist or whatever the private adds are in your area and may be able to save a lot of money on one. I cant tell you how the track performs because we haven't had any snow yet to try it.

here on kijiji everyone who is selling their slightly used tracks want more then I can pu new at Royal Dist..what a bunch of fools..no wander they are not selling..No deals on sled parts here..everyone wants to make a lot of $$$.Even some of the 2000 and 2001 SRX's are going for $4200 to $4500..I emailed and told them good luck, while another guy is selling his 20001 SRX for $2800.

Thanks for all the help but im still curious as to whether every 3rd window clipped or a fully clipped track is better and why?
Thanks
Chris

That 1" x 121 x 15 Durasport will be just fine. Does well in powder and will last for a good long time. That type of full bar design is an older, time tested design that has been around for a loooooong time. It won't have the penetration of other newer designs, such as the Hacksaw or Ripsaw, but can take alot of abuse. You'll lose abit of top end but O-well, you're on an SRX!!!

Anyone try a COBRA track??? Just curious...
I had one on my old sx 700, amazing traction and excellent side to side grip. It has about 7000 km on it now and there are a few torn lugs on the outside edge but it has seen some hard running on rocks/grass.

With the Cobra, any clearance issues (unstudded) with the protectors? Significantly better traction? Loss of top end speed? I am toying with the idea of a 136 Cobra in my 2000 SRX... NO SNOW = KEEP MODDING!!!
