Hey guys, I have a mmax with benders roller rooster, not sure which Generation it is (how can I tell?) anyhow, i find it starts off boggy, my track hooks up so well now with no slipping, I find it bogs for a second before winding up, I want more engine rpm at take off like the stock helix provided, what angle should I change? should I go up or down, on the first number or second?? I want good all around but I do race this sled in 1/8 mile. And my gearing is 23/39 with the small 8 tooth drivers.

now I have a 41/35

Initial angle controls the rate of shift at the start. You should increase your twist 10* until you find what you like. I'm not sure what effective gear ration you'd be at with those 8tooth drivers, but lowering your gearing means that the initial track speed is slower when the sheaves engage. If you can't get the secondary to play ball, you might drop gearing a tooth and get around the bog.

Where are you engaging now?

That is a second generation. Tighten up the secondary 10 degrees & see if that helps. It could be a belt deflection problem or centre to centre is wacked.

Well the center to center/ offset and belt deflection is all ok, I set it up, I and the secondary spring is the very stiff bender red/yellow one at 30 degrees, it's an offset spring, this is a stiff setting, not really 30 degrees if you know what I mean, but I feel it's trying to shift out too fast, I want to get another helix to play with but not sure which way to go with the numbers, maybe someone could explain what number does what in detail for me, and others im sure.........
