For the 1st time in 3 weeks it stopped snowing and we got some visibility.
The snow was nice and deep and we figured it would be a good day to take the boards with us!!!
Highmark up Rainbow MTN.
If you cant hit it on the sled, You gotta hit it on the snowboard.
Apex's heavy? Handles pretty good in the air for me!!!
Whistler Blackcomb in the background of this shot....
The fresh rollers were one of the most fun things to ride on the sleds and the boards.
It really dosent take much to get the front end up!!!!
I should be headed into the backcountry again this weekend, lots more photo's and video's to come this season!!!!!

Almost too much snow for me too, thats a 15ft base ,like I said 3 weeks of snow (20cm per day)with no visibility until yesterday. It's not anywhere as easy to ride as it looks, if you ever riden in 4+ft of untouched you know what Im talking about, but Im a known back country trailbreaker and the crew usually expects me to go 1st.
I still do trail ride 20km of groomed everyday just to access the alpine, And Nothing is as Fast as SRX's, Vipers, and Mountain Maxes on the trails.
(talking to you guys makes me miss my 2-stroke, but I love my Apex MTX).
I'll have some videos up for you guy's really soon!!!

Would the 'ol Max have had a heart attack(engine problems) w/ that much snow.
Man I wish BC was half the distance it actually is to me, then Id be up to visit in a heartbeat. I've always wanted to give my 174" a really good challenge, and 4ft of fresh sounds perfect for that. The only really good snow in the states is southern Colorado right now. Everywhere is lacking in snow. Enjoy the awesome snow for all of us here at TY. Heck my backyard, which has been the envy of snowmobilers for the last 2 years, is nothing but white dusted grass. Very, very sad, with nothing in the near future either.

SXlover ain't that the truth. You and us North have nothing for snow.Did you see that report from Nasa about ND and Manitoba. We are in the Red Zone apparently where global warming is the worst in the future. They are predicting for our area more droughts and say the grasslands and Boreal Forests are going to disappear in the near future.Could mean hot dry scorching summers and mild winters/and even big floods once in a while..all contributed to global warming.Wandering already about this because we are still in a drought situation since last June..not looking good..time to move West or further up North..

Never the Mountain Max is low Maint. Bulletproof 2-stroke, with the help of you guys its survived almost 50-70 days of Deep Powder riding not bad for a 1500$ sled.
Anyone looking to get into backcountry riding I highly recommend the newer Mountain Max with the 141" as a great starter sled.
If you extend the track, triple pipe it and proper cluching, it will take you almost everywhere out here. but they still run great from stock.
And its new owner was very happy to get my sled!!!
too bad they stopped making them

That snow looks simply amazing...
The storm track is finally changing so hopefully we get some of that here in CO
And ya this is my first season on a sled so I've got some powder learning to be had. I've already noticed my MM gets around just as good as the bigger sleds even though I've only got a 44 track. Pretty sure I will be upgrading next season for a new sled

thats funny, I ended up here randomlybluemonster1 said:..time to move West or further up North..
I accually came out here 5 years ago, From Sauble Beach Ontario(hometown) on a snowboard trip, and never went home.
I found work and a place to live the 2nd day after I arrived.
(after having a hard time finding good paying work in Ontario, I had nothing to lose)
Me and my girlfriend had 1200$ between us which went to 1st months rent.
Somehow we survived.... and ending up doing pretty good!!!
No Regrets!!!
5 Years later....
I live in a million dollar home, 2 car garage, bought sleds, bikes, a truck, Collection of Les Paul Guitars, everything I want, Now Im making so much money and Life is so Good it has made it impossible for me to leave. what Im getting at is there is alot of opperunity out West, and the sledding is the best part. for 9 months of the year there is no lack of snow in the Coastal Mountains. I predict living areas like Pemberton BC and Squamish BC which both sit outside Whistler to become the affordable Dream location for the Canadian Snowmobiler. I'm currently renting but will be buying in sqaumish BC in the next 2 years.
Living the Dream!!!
I have Inspired so many people by doing guides in this area.
I seriously wish that everyone could have a chance to experience this and understand that its not all Avalanche Danger and were not all a bunch of Drunk Rednecks, There are levels of sledding out here for everyone and you can always progress. Its really nice to not have to insure your sled every year and not have to pay for trail stickers like back home, but the One thing you Always have to do is Carry a backpack with a shovel, a probe and an Avalanche Beacon.
I live in the greatest Resort for Snowboarding in the world, but it aint compared to what we have to offer for sledding!!!
-It makes snowboarding not even fun anymore, Im gonna lose my Sponsers one of these years because I sled too much....lol...whatever makes the snow fly!!!

The best Part about the maountain Max is it seems to hold its dollar value well and is a great down payment for your next sled, but dont be surprised if you ride the mountain max for a few years before flipping it, I said the same thing, but It was such a great sled I got a few years out of it, before I switched to an 07 Apex MTN, I choose to stay with Yamaha for reliability, and have no regreats. But staying on the mountain max for an extra season deffinatly made me a better rider when I switched to the Apex.
And your so right that will keep up with the Big Sleds!!! mine used to own all my friends Rev 800r's.

My brother did the same thing. Went out there to ride in the summer on blackcomb. Came back home and packed his stuff and moved to Whistler 17 or 18 years ago. Still loving it. I've ridden to the towers up on Rainbow looking down on the village, snowcat, grizzly lake and up to the towers close to black tusk before they banned motorized vehicles up there. Keep safe with all that rain/snow they were getting the past few. Dont wanna cut your own death.

Just Found a fleet of 09 Phaser MTX's for 2800$ each. they got 10k on them but meh.
Time to stop upgrading for a bit and get an extra sled!!!
Truth is if I wanted to I could easly pay it off doing guides if I had the 2nd sled to rent.
One thing is for sure these 4-strokes are extremly cheap on gas in the mountains, easy to maintain, and they are built really solid.
My friends are spending 3x as much money to run there Ski-doo's its insane, because of this I found myself saving alot of money this season since switching to 4-stroke. And now Im getting closer to being able to afford an extra sled with the money I saved.
For such a powerful sled I really dont understand how Im getting such great fuel milage for the amount of time the needle hits the redline.
Apex MTN. was the right sled for me.
