Just put this one together from many parts. The seller of the motor said that it should run good. Got it all put together and took it out for a spin last night. It idles great, has good throttle response, but it seems to be breaking up a little bit in the mid to upper range. I did a thorough cleaning on the carbs, unhooked the tors as I am having issues with that. Now I am just looking for some direction as what to look for next. Should I clean the carbs again?

make sure you put the exhaust manifold gasket on correctly, if you did you should see a small tab on the top of the pto corner of the manifold. If its on incorrectly, which will block exhaust flow, the tab will be on the bottom of the mag cylinder.

Ok, flipped the exhaust gasket. It is still breaking up when I hit around 7,500-8,000 rpm. My meter doesnt go down low enough to check the ohms on the plugs.

Have you tried a different set of spark plugs?
When you cleaned the carbs did you remove the needle and seats to clean the fine filter screen over the top of the needle body?
