i was told by d&D to just pop the rivets out on my primary weights and buy some heavy bolts and washers and use some locktite so the nut doesnt come off the bolt to get the clutch to grab the belt harder anyone try this?

i just bought them from Hauck, a set of 5.5 gram and 5.9 gram. Nut and bolt together = the amount of weight to be added. There are several other kits that have all kinds of different size and weight nut and bolts. The object is to add or subtract just enough to get your sled in the power band where it needs to run at.

i was just thinking about going to the hardware with a digital scale and buying some nuts and bolts stock is 4.5g the spring in the clutch makes it engage at about 52-5500 and i was thinking add enough weight to drop it down to about 4k-4500 i am just trying to get the most belt grip i can and the most off the start snap its geared down 2 teeth on top has 144 studs and i am going to mess with the clutching a bit

Yamaha rivets are really a pain to drill and peen out if you do clutch tuning.
