2004 Viper Drive axle in a 97 MM?

Will a 2004 Viper drive axle fit/work in a 1997 Mountain Max?

it will fit but you will lose your speedo drive as the viper uses a reluctor wheel on the end and yours uses a gearbox with square drive tang.

Out west in the MTNS should only be concerned about a working tack lol

Do you need a drive axle? I have a spare sitting here.

Yes it will fit, but as Viper said you will lose your speedo. The viper axle is a solid axle and much stronger than the 97.
