99 srx 700 over revving

Hey guys! Thanks for all you're help on my other questions...i have one more...this weekend i was out running around on a couple of lakes and i found my sled to still be over revving. Last week i took my secondary off and changed where the spring goes into the helix....the service manual that i have from Yamaha, said the spring should be 2 on sheave and 6 on the helix with a 80 degree twist....I did that but still seem to be over revving....can anyone help me out? thanks again and this site it great!

add some heavier rivets to tip of weights..will drop the rpm's on top.

you can then fine tune with the 2ndary after you have the primary close to where you want it.Try 1 and 6 for a 70 wrap..fine tuning..

a 99 SRX stock has 8DN-10 weights with 13.3 and 17.2 rivets.Also the secondary should be Red Spring at 60 wrap with 47 Helix.Check what you have in the sled right now and then go from there.

just make sure you set everything up to stock specs first and then ride it and see what gives.Then you can do small adjustments one at a time..
