I'm on this 04 viper rebuild which was caused from a burn down, which was caused by snapped exhaust studs being replaced with crappy bolts. I thought I figured this out but now I noticed that the exhaust manifold is warped so if you put a straight edge across the manifold ports, it's warped. My thoughts are that the previous owner stripped the studs trying to make every thing flush. But since the manifold was warped that didn't work. Thus the bolts, and then the burn down. I found out that the cylinder that Millennium Technology worked on had been worked on before I had sent it in.
Has anyone had a warped manifold like this and do you think milling it would be as expensive as picking up a replacement.
I feel like a detective....but not a very experienced one! "Your honor, that previous owner is guilty of viper abuse!!"

I think it would be cheaper to get a good used one than paying a machinist it mill it flat. Once milled , it would probally to warp again due to the flange being thinner.

I feel your pain! Every time I get a different sled I feel the uncontrolable urge to tear it apart! Even if it runs fine, Just incase theres some weird monkey wrench or gremlin the last guy cobbled just good enough to get rid off it!
