So a friend of mine was riding my SX 600 and it starting running like crap. Popped the hood a saw fuel running into the airbox through the ATACC. Any idea what would cause this. Got it started with some throttle input and ran the crap out of it, then the problem went away and didnt come back the rest of the day. Thoughts???
What is the ATACC? You may have had a stuck needle seat in one of the carb bowls that did not stop the gas from leaving the bowl which could explain how fuel could be flowing into the air box.

(Automatic Temperature and Altitude Carburetor Compensator)
This compensator will automatically keep your carbs tuned through all temperatures and a typical elevation change of up to 8000 feet (2400 meters) (see instructions for other limitations). The standard compensator is set initially for operation with -20F (-29C) carb jetting for use with snowmobiles, but can be set to use with any jetting temperature. It is also easily set for any operating base (minimum) altitude. This compensator is recommended for the mountain rider who wants to play, not jet. The standard ATACC will work on almost any snowmobile except 4-strokes with CV type carbs and it is not recommended for 2001-2002 Ski-Doo's with TM flatslides. We offer a model-specfic kit for Polaris snowmobiles with air box vented TM flatslide racked carbs, but all the ATACC units themselves are the same and therefore a standard snowmobile ATACC can still be used on Polaris.

doesn't that system compensate for temp and altitude by applying a vacuum to the float bowl,i would think if the needle in the bowl stuck or got a piece of dirt in,it the bowl would fill up all the way and the vacuum would pull the fuel into the airbox.
