HELP My speedometer quit working on my 1999 venture. Went to the local yamaha shop and they sold me a little part that they say normally breaks(joint). I was able to remove the piece from the gear housing however the other side that broke off I am having trouble getting out. any suggestions? I tried a little screwdriver but had no luck......
A small drill bit and work at it slowly and it will come out. Also when that breaks, it's a sign that the bearing is going bad on the driveshaft. Be sure to check the bearing while in there.

Like previous poster said small drill bit and go up one drill size. I soaked it with penetrating oil and the key eventually spun out on the bit.
