Ok so I know this sounds crazy but bear with me. I am trying to start a think tank for my summer project. Here is my idea: Get rid of the trailing arm pro action front suspension on my SRX. And here is the ridiculous part, I want to put an A-arm front suspension on my sled. I've been playing around with a few ideas but I want to here from you guys. So lets here your opinions, knowledge, or if you know of anyone who has done it. Share it here.
Do a search on this site, There was a guy who sold a sled on ebay with exactly what you are saying, Done to it. He used an arctic cat bulkhead, But that is all I know about it.

I think it would be really cool to swap in the front suspension from a Banshee or Raptor. I have always wanted to try it but with a 2yr old and a 6yr old the daycare costs are eating up all of the "let's go play" funds for now.
Ya i have planty of play time and i'm also an engineering student at university of alaska fairbanks so this is something that i'm definitely going to make a run at but i'm thinking more along the lines of keeping my chassis as close to stock as possible. my idea so far is that i need an a arm set off of either an arctic cat or a poilaris cause thay seem to have shorter a arms then instead of modifying the chassis i was thinking of possible ways to fabricate a bracket that would replace the upper shock mount utilizing the pre existing bolt holes as well as the two bolt holes just around the corner from the upper shock mount. if i was able to do it this way and if it was durable enough it could be very easily replicated.

you are on the right track in terms of using what pre exists. i would not go hacking up anything that can not be put back to original. pretty much the golden rule on experimental mods. unless u have lots of $ 2 burn.
ya like i said above. i want it to be able to be duplicated by anyone with not a lot of money or time. i.e. the bracket theory. The hurdle i'm running into right now is exactly how the a arm suspension works it's hard to find a good description online for a sled. and i don't have access to a new machine to observe. if you know of any sites or forums that might have more detailed pictures or diagrams of different a arm suspensions let me know. i also need to narrow it down to a particular brand and size of a arm i'm thinking shorter is better.
