I have a 1980 Srx 440 bottom end with 1976 ported cylinders I need to know if I can run new factory 1980 pistons and rings in the 1976 cylinders I have heard they may b different is this true.
pistons
You can run any of the 8G9 pistons as far as I know. The 77 & 76 bottom ends had smaller wrist pin diameter.

YES THE 1980 SRX PISTONS WILL WORK, PROBLEM IS STUDS. IF ITS A COMPLETE 80 SRX BOTTOM END, 76 JUGS WON,T GO ON 80 CASE BECAUSE OF LARGER STUDS. DUDE, YOUR SORTA PLAYING RING AROUND THE ROSY HERE. YOU HAVE ASKED Same QUESTIONS OVER AND OVER. 3:16 (YAMMIE TONY)
