Xt long travel skid with rebuild able shocks. Which direction does the front shock go in. The valve on the bottom or top?? It seems like it wont line up if I bout the valve on the bottom, Looks wrong when you put it in the other way. Cant remember how it looked when I took it apart.

On my Viper it's the adjuster (threaded end) toward top with the valve facing forward.
so is it even possible to adjust the shock with the adjuster up in the top like that?
I need to add that the front shock I'm putting in IS a viper shock. My old shock you could put it in both ways. The viper shock will only go in upside down ( and when I say upside down I am comparing it to what the front shocks on the sled look like) I don't think I read anywhere that you had to do any grinding to fit a viper shock in.

upside down as you put it is the right way. shaft down ,body up and valve facing forward. pretty sure this is how all the rebuildable front skid shocks are installed .97srxXT said:I need to add that the front shock I'm putting in IS a viper shock.
