Have a 99 SRX 700. Needed to adjust the PV's and found out 2 of 3 cables got tangled on the servo and cables broke. Finally got snow and have a trip planned this weekend. Any issues with running or could damage result?

Thanks for the replies.

I never have but I have read from other guys on here about them riding 500+ miles with known pulled threw PVs. They say it wont hurt anything that it just wont have the power it should have.

Clean the power valves and put them back together in the engine with all the pieces except without the broken cables. You'll be slightly down on power at the top end but the engine will be fine with no worries about engine damage. Keep in mind the longer you run without them operating the more difficult they may be to pull out. They get "glued" in place by the build-up of exhaust by-products over time from not moving. You'll be fine. I am sure i ran one whole season with inoperable power valves with no problems.

Do not run it without the power valves in place.

you don't want the valves without tension it will wear out the collars and then start to touch piston. just get some cables.it will also get gummed up fast.

I agree, don't run too far with the valves loose. I have proven what amatosrx says. If you really have to run it, just pull the valves out. Your low end power will suffer, but you will have the same top-end.

you will just have a slight bog on the bottom end but if the rpms are in the 5000 6000 range the valves are open fully .just remove them or they will beat up the stoppers and drop on the piston .....i got cables but no way i could get them to you fast enough not even overnite will work

Thanks for the info. Ya*ma*a*head, I'll send you a note on the cables you have.

Thanks for the info.
