I'm interested in coverting my MM to 8" rear wheels. what is the most economical way to do this? Some of the kits I've seen are all bling and pretty expensive. Any ideas? Soc

I too am interested in running 8" rear wheels. Why can't you just install the 8" on the same axle shaft as the 7.12"? I know overall the wheel will be 1/2" deeper than the hyfax, but really does it matter??? Al

Everything I've read says don't install 8" wheels w/o some sort of conversion kit, whether that's a offset axle or what. It can cause the rails to bend or break. I am going to use a an extension made for 8" wheels. (I'm waiting for them as I type this... been waiting a while now.) If you aren't extending your track then use an offset axle. You don't need to use Alum billet wheels, Arctic has stock 8" wheels on their Mtn sleds, I think Doo also has stock 8" wheels available, they are much cheaper than buying billet wheels. I shopped ebay and found 3 - 8" wheels for less $75 for all three and they were brand new. I hope this helps.

I'm looking for an offset axle set up and can't find much info. I have yet to decide on the wheels, thanks for the info you gave me on the wheels, I have yet to decide which way I'm going there.

I've seen the offset axles in a couple places before, but this site was the only one I can remember. They make alot of custom stuff, so I don't know what kind of timeframe there is for an order.

I would call them to place your order. So you can get an estimate on how long it will take. I placed and order for 8" wheel extensions for 136" to 144" and I'm still waiting for them. Last time I called they said they had not gotten to them yet, but will get to them as soon as they can. The lady I spoke to said they are very busy this time of year, that was about 3 weeks ago. Anyway, if they have them in stock it might not take that long. I've been told by others that have ordered extensions from them that they can take a while this time of year.
