I need some advice i bought this sled in october and rode it once in december and it ran ok i did notice alot of black oil around the exhaust ports very wet. I rode it for the second time today (finally got some snow) ran good for about 5 min then developed a very bad bog at wide open. I put the choke on half when it would do this it didn't help still lots of oil aroud exhaust. From what i can see is that it has a thinned head gasket and a gyt single pipe i jetted it for 1000 feet hear in nebraska.

I had a fine wire electrode spark plug that failed that did what you are talking about. It had about a .060" gap after the electrode fell/wore out. Ran fine until I was past about 3/4 throttle then just bogged, worth a quick look.
Oil around the flanges to the head is very common, the factory seals never worked very long for me I was able to get replacement ones in the past that were a gasket material not the metal sealing ring style and they worked much better they look like a small block Chevy thermostat gasket.

I chacked the plugs they look ok, wet but ok good brown color. I am going to put ne ones in. Removed carbs and disassembled them they look clean. The carbs have 152.5 main and 52.5 pilot, needles at 2. what is the float measurement? I removed the pulse hose for fuel pump looks dry. any ideas. should it have br8 or br9 plugs the sticker says 9 when i got it it had 8s.

After cleaning the carbs and some new plugs I took it out for a test ride it ran great rode for about half hour I don't really know what fixed it. Supposed to get some snow tonight I will try it again tomarrow
