Hi.
I got my 97 vmax sx 600 used about 2 years ago. it looked as if it had been left out in the sun since the day it left the dealer. red is dull and almost chaulky. Which didn't bother me too much until i removed the giant michigan trail sticker that was on it.
My question is can the plastic hood be buffed to regain it's shine or am i looking at stripping all the stickers and painting?
Any advise would be a big help.

I would give buffing or polishing a try first it might bring a little shine back but not all. If it doesn't work then you better break out the sand paper and paint gun.
Good luck Matt

Mix up a batch of flour & water to a consistancy of white Elmers glue. Cheapest and one of the best compounds I've used. Definately on the 'FINE' side of polishes. Works well on any paint. Washes/melts off w/ hot water.wingnut600 said:anybody know if there is a special type of compound for the fiberglass?
