Going to head to the radar runs out on Pickerel Lake Saturday the 28th (southern Forest county WI) made 3 quick passes last year with a best speed of 82mph, was only 500' last year, and there was NO snow glare ice. going to trail ride there, and see what it will pull this year in 660'. Running loaded 8DN20's, WWW primary spring,51/43 rx1 helix, green converter spring @80, everything else is box stock, same as last year, wanted to try the 8bu? set up, but no time this season......what do you guys think? any guesses? any of you fellow yamaholics going?

What is a respectable 660' time on a trail stock 98 srx 700? on ice

Not really sure about a time, but I'm pretty sure a good speed for trail stock would be right around 90 MPH.

And so:

Distance = Avg Velocity X Time

Avg Velocity = (Initial Velocity + Final Velocity) / 2

Avg Velocity = (0 + 90 MPH) / 2 = 45 MPH

660 Ft = 45 MPH X Time

660 Ft = 66 FPS X Time

10 S = Time

I'm going to say right around 10 seconds, seems a bit high though.

Id say if you can get high 6's mid 7's your doing pretty good for trail stock 700 ;)!

On second thought my numbers may only work if you can assume a constant acceleration, which obviously does not apply to real life situations where air resistance increases as a function of your velocity.

Those numbers seem about right from an intuitive perspective needaSRX! ^^^

82 was the best run today. Tried the converter @ 70,80,AND 60. 82 WAS WITH 80 wrap on the spring, two f7' s there, best speed was 91 for them. Sled just seemed flat today. Conditions sucked on the lake also for top speed runs, 103 gps, lots of loose snow though. Ordered an 8BU set up, sled was the same speed as last year:(
