Tonight a friend and I started to install an xtra-10 skid into my 95 vmax600. Got the skid in some how I was able to get the rear bolts to go right into the stock mounts I have no idea how.The front mount hole a set at 11 5/8" from the back of the drive shaft to the center and 5 1/4" from the top of the tunnel. I checked my measurements 4 times before I drilled. Once I had the whole thing in ang the track tightend I went to push on the back and the skid did not move at all. The x-10 skid is from a 99 xc700 Someone have any advice?

When the skid was out did the arms move? Where is the rear arm between the 2 stops? It should be in the middle, if it's not then you've the center to center wrong. Also what setting do you have the torsion springs set at?

Yes the front arm moved just fine. The back I had to stand on and kinda push real hard with all my weight. The rear arm is against the back stops. I do not know what the torsion springs are set at.

Sounds like the "rear is against stops" is your biggest problem. Pics would help as something you dont think of mentioning could be spooted and pointed out with pics.

http://jbshocks.com/x10mount.jpg In case you don't have these.
If that's the case your center to center distance is not correct. A Center to Center distance would put the rear arm in the middle of those 2 stops. I would say to re-check the measurments of your holes.
YES! Pictures would be a great help.

Im goin to the shop after work and measure from the center of the front mount and make provisions for the rear arm and move it to 23 1/16" on center instead of the original mount location for my vmax skid
