i read on an old post that the stock setting for the oil pump on a viper was 20mm. my viper is piped, and in the same post they said that 19mm was recomended.i installed new extended rsi cables and have set to its longest possible length. i measured at the adjusting joint and i only get 16.38mm is this set to rich or will it be ok since it is piped?

it would seem the only way to know for sure is to calculate the gas to oil ratio. fill oil res. close 2 top. mark side of res. fill tank at pump until nozzle clicks twice with nozzle in same position. run at least 50 miles lets say and repeat procedure at pump. measure oil required to refill res. to mark. not 100% accurate not bad either. divide ounces of gas used by ounces of oil used. i guess go from there. not sure on best ratio range. u would think around 50:1 but not sure what yamaha shoots for.

bluemonster- what about oil that goes to crankcase. would this mean that actual ratio going to carbs. is less than 50:1? i wonder how much that goes to crankcase directly gets into cylinders, if any?
