Anybody ride or run with a new pro r in their group.?? I am puttins serious thought into getting a 2012 , 136" 800 pro r. Looking for somebody with experience or seat the on one of these. I really want a stand up style sled and a 120 horse nytro won't do it for me. Love the srx, but want a mogul/ditch hopper.

I've rode the 2011 Pro RMK. They are quite the sled and I sure did like it. If I had to buy a 2010 it'd be an M8, and if I was to buy a 2011+ it'd be a Pro RMK. Yamaha just is a disappointment in the Mountain section anymore. Going to keep on riding my 08 Apex Mtn. for a few more years yet.

Got my sled, my car, and my truck...now it's time to start saving up for a place of my own.

I ride with a friend that has 2011 pro r. I've rode it a few times and it's a fun sled to drive. you can lift the front anytime you need and steer the sled easily with body lean. I've once before on here called it alot like riding a dirtbike and got blasted but I stand by it. I raced motocross for years before F-ing up my knee and far as sleds goes this is the closest feel to a dirtbike on skiis that I've ridden.

thats the one with the suspension hanging off the back right? if it is then I have only one thing i dont like about it. its butt ugly! I would personally get the assault. thats what people around here are riding. to be honest i wouldnt even get a polaris. its the least powerfull and most un-reliable of the 3 800 engines. Ive heard great things about arctic cats new 800s. Remember this is my opinion and im just sharing it

well, I got one. A 2012 switchback 800 pro-r. I will let you know how i like it.
As far as the least powerful, you are right, lowest HP of all of them, but, quickest E.T. of all of them in the 1/4 mile, in the N.Y shootout anyway.
Unreliable, I am not sure, I got a 5 year warranty. I looked around a bit and found on other forums, that the polaris got the most praise of any of the 800's We'll find out if we get some snow. One thing for sure, it will suit my riding style far better than the srx.

I think the front half of the sleds look cool. Seems like all the Yami's look teh same, year after year. I almost bought a Polaris last year, but I decided to stay "BLUE"...
for at least one more sled.

I like the new yami's, but they don't make anything that makes me want to throw my money down. A higher HP nytro would be interesting, still heavy tho. If they made a 140 HP Phazer, then i'm in.

ive never had any problem with polaris sleds. for the most part they seem to be decent and reliable. id put them at a close 2nd place right next to yammi as far as reliability in general they are pretty good. besides mabey the old mono block xlts. cant say that i like the way the rear of those switchback 800 pro-r sleds look... but.. to each thier own.. everyones a critic the world is full of them lol. but if i were to buy another sled that wasnt a yamaha, it would be a polaris. .02 added.
