ok on my sx 600twin the track was originally a 3/4 i never really checked the lug height since i bought it but did notice it slowly getting worse traction so i went out today and measured my lugs they are only 1/2 inch!!!! my buddy has a 1 inch track he said i could have how much of a difference is 1/2 inch going to make. i am going to the U.P next weekend so i need a track asap due to the 10+ inches they have by my cabin. i will also be riding on lakes and rivers and i was wondering if i could fit a 1 inch track with 1 1/8 studs without buying new drivers or dropping the skid a little. i heard i might have to remove my tunnel protectors tho.
yep, ran my '99 SX like that for over 6000 miles without an issue. I did put a 1/4" thick piece of UHMW down the center of the tunnel between the tunnel protectors to keep the studs from hitting the bottom of the tunnel in that area because all my studs were in the middle of the track. The track wore out before anything else so I replaced it with a 1.25" Predator that runs great as well.

with a 1 inch track, 1-1/8" studs will be fine, just don't remove your protectors!! Don't want to be punching a hole in that gas tank or your family heirlooms.
