Ok building a 1979 Srx 440 drag sled anybody got any ideas of suspension mods for rear skid or all around best setup.

put a 76 srx skid under it. if you cant get one. tighten your rear springs up remove any unwanted weight out of it. remove the shock or drill a hole in it to let out the pressure. limit the rear travel to 1.5 inches. then work with your limiter strap to control your track spin and ski height, off the start.
Finding a 76 skid is probly out of the question.I got a similar settup up like you said I have front and rear limiter straps I removed the shock and I just stiffened up the return springs I havnt tried it yet but it transfers realy good sitting on it and pulling back just don't know if it still will be to soft thanks for the input.

keep pulling up the front strap until it spins the track. then let it out 1 hole. you need at least 180 1" picks. skis high= low speed e.t. get your weight moving forward not up.
