Heres the deal, from 1/2 to 3/4 throttle i am seeing 1250 on the egt's. from idel to 1/2 its 1000, and if you open her up it runs at about 1120. I am thinking I need to raise the needles by .5 to 1, but just want some second thoughts before I do. I can get the temps to drop right down by opening wide open or by backing off and blipping the throttle. Thanks Maxdlx

Mine is doing the same thing right now , have you done plug checks ?? after talking to about a dozen people about this , and after raising the needle all the way up and still seeing 1200 in the mid range and only getting about 55 miles per tank this is what im going to do . next time i get a chance to test , im not going to even turn the egt on , and get my readings from plug and piston wash after i think im ok with that im going to turn the egt on and see what the temps are , i'm being told that with all the factors in probe placement and probe type that temps on the gauge could read 1350 and you still would be ok as long as plugs and wash look good , ever since i got that dahm egt i cant keep my eyes off it and depend to much on it , im going to get it right the old fashion way then i know im ok ....let me know how much temp change you get per clip or washer ...thanks

My plugs look different since I added the dial a jets. They just seem to have a lighter look to the brown, not white but not cardboard. The tech there said thats normal. I am going to move the clip 1/2 and try again. Maxdlx

Well if that isn't a pain. I sure hope I did it right the first time. The e clip was in position 3 with both washers underneath it. So i moved the e clip down to position 4 with one on top and one on bottom. IS THAT RIGHT. Man that should have been done when I had the carbs off. LOL Maxdlx

Well it made #1 perfect, but made #2 and 3 worse. I am jetted 145 #1, 143.8 # 2&3, could this be the problem. I am going to jet them up if no one answers soon. Maxdlx

but if the temps go down when you pin it , that means your ok on the top end and thats your main jets , if your hot in the middle then its your needles ...you moved the clip down right ??

Moved the e clip down from the 3 with both washers under to 4 with one on top one on bottom. Like I said it fixed #1 but made the other 2 worse, and its not as snappy. It starts getting hot at 7000 and will drop back down to 1150 to 1170 at 8400 WFO. On the low end it is fine. I'm lost. Maxdlx

thats were mine gets hot, 7000 runs up to 1225 , i moved the needels to the last clip and still runs hot on the digitron , but if you read the dial a jet set up it says it works from the needle to the top , how do the plugs look ??? or even better try this , unplug the blue tube from the dial a jet and plug it , then go for a test ride and see were you are at on temps ... let me know

maxdls,
How did it do withdial a jet disconected and plugged?
I send you a pm. what is you phone #, I have a viper i piped and am installing dial a jet like you did per your post. how many sized did you end up going down? is that from correct jetting with your pipes or from stock jetting without pipes?
Where did you install/drill in the carb throut? There is not much room, so i asume you had to drill through carb rubber boot and clamp and carb? please let me know!
THANKS
