Anyone make a 121 to 144 rail extension, or is that too long?

If your trying to build a mountain sled your best bet would be to swap in a skid from a cat or Polaris mountain sled. You won't get the performance you want. It will be a long track but short travel pro action skid still.

I disagree. Unless you are doing something with the front suspension its almost pointless to increase the rear. Having done this in several different configurations the proaction is one of the best 8" of travel you can get if its adjusted properly. The last thing you want is an off trail sled that sits like a drag car. If the rear has big travel and sits high and the front maintains the 7-8" of stock travel you will be consistanty out riding the fronts capabilities. You be driving the nose of the sled into the powder making it easier to bury the sled and giving your self a hell of a white wash at the same time. What good is a sled if both ends do not work well together? My $0.02

The mountain sleds have 11.5" of travel. These old sleds aren't like the new sleds that use a balanced suspension. These were the last generation of the old sleds that the rear suspension does most of the work. An 02 vintage RMK or Summit has 17" of travel with only 10 in the front. You will not get what you want by long tracking a short travel skid. All the hardcore mountain guys will say the pro action is junk at best and swap in something from a different brand mountain sled.

The MM also has MORE front travel than a stock srx therefore the suspension IS better balanced. Like I said, I have done just about every configuration you can imagine. I have had several different skids in the back of my srx. From the stock 121 proaction to stretched to a 136 to stretched to a 144. A skid out of my 05 warrior at 136 and then to 144. A Polaris 144. A Ski Doo SC10 at 121 to 136 to 144. The stock Proaction long traveled with Viper shocks. And now a 121 Expert X that is now stretched to a 136. All these different longer travel skids sucked big time with the front suspension at stock height. Did they ride better on trail.....YES. Did they work better off trail ABSOUTLEY NO!!!! The front of my sled was always down in the snow. The front bumper was hitting every mogul and pounding snow back in my face. The nose would just dive into the snow and have an almost tunnel like feel. Now I have Long travel Ohlins and Viper trailing arms and spindles on the front and the thing is an animal off trail. Completely different sled.
Take it from someone that has actually done it instead of read about it.
