LIFE MEMBER ONLY ONCE!!!
well took off this am to ride the River. There is no one around riding at all but me.A few ice fishing guys and that was it.There is only about an inch of snow on the ice,so very slippery in corners and no traction on take off..but was fun to ride for a change.Put on 106 km's on the 600 today and all is well.Nothin like a Yamaha bringing me home safe again.
I thought my oil pump was pumping to much oil the other day,so adjusted the gap on oil line to what I thought was 23 mm.Got home..measured the oil and gas and was in the 63:1 range..a little lean.Checked the gap and it was around 24-25 mm...so dropped her down to around 22.5mm.
Thried a new clutch set up..8CH-10's with 3.6 each hole.Used stock Yamaha 51/43 helix and green at 70.She was dead on in the rpm's today.WOT 8400-8500 and no more. The dual runner are just biting the ice all day..can hear it..and the odd rock or stump.Got to about 145 km's/hr and that was it..normal for my 600.I may go and drop a tooth on top again since it I put the stock 20 back in the Fall. But it is not my speed sled ..ditchbanger only.Clutch's were cool to the touch and everything ran good.Nothin like a Yamaha that will take you out and bring you back home in 1 piece.
Did some bush running..got my ski's on top of a few logs..
had to get off and turn her around in the tight path...maybe 4 to 5 inches in some places in the bush.Still not the snow we are used to..usually it is around 3 feet deep where I was today last year same time.Usually I can hardly run thru the bush in that snow..but today was easy..lol
Was nice to at least ride.Averaged about 11.4 mpg also.
STEIN..was out at the Rat River today..went quite a ways down that River and did not see you anywhere..where are you.Tempted to take the SRX out yet..but don't know if I want to ride the miles of marginal snow, rocks, dirt with it to get to the River...

Was near the corner of the Red and Rat (just past the bridge on the Rat) today with the kids playing some pond hockey. Beautiful day for that. We heard a couple of sleds go by. I guess one of them was you.

just.. just border line..but had to try something I guess.Lucky the Main River is not to far from my House. If I had permission to go thru some property behind me..I could hit the River really quick and with more snow on the property since it is about a mile to the River and in the bush where more snow has accumulated..
+3c tomorrow. Not great conditions for riding
