i have a 98 srx 600 and its flashing 3 times any body know what that code means? ive cleaned the power valves and carbs at the start of the year. ive took the wiring harness out and taped it all back up its still dying any help?

Per the tech pages and prolly LOTS of other threads 3 flashes = good to go! Also known as no faults found. The detection system wouldnt alert to a failing stator. With more detailed info on "stalling" we maybe able to help you more.

yes u need to provide more details. does it start o.k.? does it idle o.k.? if not how long before it stalls? what kind of performance?
it runs good has lots of power idles great it runs for about 10 minutes then 3 flashes and it dies

You cleaned out the jets in the Carbs and cleaned the floats right? That's been my problem the last 2years and it's worked let me know.

If you are positive that its 3 flashes I would recomend going over harness looking for rub threw,mouse chew or some melted wires. You said you cleaned valves...any chance some wires fot moved around and burnt up. The three flash sequence should only happen when you start it. Seem to run good above 6500 rpm (where PVs open)?
sounds to me that one of your electrical components is heating up and then breaking down. i would do the heat up stall cycle and start testing things with a multimeter. have your specs on hand. and start testing. i would start out by testing your stator.
i had a beretta it would run until it warmed up then it would stall and not start again untill it cooled turned out the coil pack was breaking down when it got warm. but on this sled i would start with stator. then start testing coils individually.

like i said as well, im new t all this, and mine does the same, but i dont have to wait, it will start again as soon as i pull the rope, could that be the same thing?

Doubtful. Yours starting right back up, not needing to cool off first suggests a different issue. I beleive his 3 flashes is upon startup. Yours flashes and then dies right? Does your flash 3 times right after you start it?

Check your fuel lines for a crack, rub threw, or getting pinched..could be a vaccum problem??? i had a problem with my srx 600 doin that till she finally died completely. come to find out my fuel line pinched and put a whole in it. mine was flashing 3 times also but only at high rpms..
