Can't shut them Doos off LMAO

I had a couple of buds accompany me today out to a local lake to do our ritual of a "shake down run" as our first run of a season to make sure everything is going to stay together.Well things were working pretty well for a bit until we stopped and shut the sleds off for a chat,once we were ready to go again one of the Doos recoils wouldn't work,a 2001 800 MXZX.Pull and pull but nothing so out comes the cord for the primary.So we decide to try a local trail and see how far we can get,we stop again and the second doo recoil wont work this one a 2004 or 5 Rev 600 HO.What a bunch of junk cant Ski Doo make a friggin recoil that will last?
All I know is that the old Yammy was workin pure and runnin strong. ;)!
 
yeah, the clutch parts inside the doos are plastic, very common for them to crap out. a shame that something that silly stops the fun
 
That is the only part I've sold so far off my old 670 that I'm parting out. I tried to fire it up afterwards with a rope around the clutch it broke the bolt loose and popped the outer sheave off. Lame.

I've got a few stories about Doo recoils. Although the breakage causes a delay in riding, watching my buds use the aux rope on the primary can be fun too.

...and more to the title of this thread; I had a bud with a 670 MXZ that couldn't shut the sled off (dieseling) after spitting a stud into a HX. A few squirts of the primer shut it down and I got to tow him home.
 
Ditto! Went riding about three weeks ago, when we had snow, I show up and my buddies are working on their sleds. One delayed us about two or three hours because his recoil wouldn't work. We finally made an emergency pull cord and he ended up using that. And I have the oldest sled of the bunch and it still spanks them!
