I am in the process of doing a rebuild on my Viper, and while it's down I want to check the rod play. What are the specs on this and how should I perform them... Top of rod free play with caliper or bottom of rod clearance with feeler gauge? So far I need 1 jug, piston and power valve !!
big end side clearance-.01-.03"
small end side clearance-.03-.04"
small end side clearance-.03-.04"
use a dial indicator for the top mounted to magnetic base, bottom you can use feeler guages.
