rode the SRX today,,FINALLY!!

yep got the old 700 SRX out on the River.It is warming up pretty good also.6 Celcius out now.Got 8bu-10's with w-w-w and 51/43 with v max P/W Spring at 0 and 3 wrap.I have the grunt on launch but just can't get her past 105 mph and that is a long haul.No DCS or temp lights ..good.Idle was way to high,had to adjust it and my throttle cable became tighter.Got home and re adjusted that and now will have to re calibrate the TPS again.Studs sure helped today on the ice but my ski's were really hard to steer as the carbides are constantly cutting.May loosen straps to take pressure off them ski's.
Being a mild day and sugar like snow..guess couldn't expect any more speed.
Seems to me that v-max spring is to much,probably will go back to Green spring at 70.The primary wasn't opening up all the way..my black marker still had 1/2 inch left ofn the primary.Seems like the secondary wasn't opening up enough with that spring and not allowing belt to shift fully.Clutch's are way cool to the touch..no slipping going on.
Probably should just go back to stock and be it.Launch's at 8200 from a standstill and pulls to 8500 dead nuts and no more..so got to be the 2ndary holding me back.Gonna get colder during the week..could try a different spring.
Put 61 miles on anyways...love the pull to 100 anyways..it feels great.

bad i can't find that post ...he said that spring help alots for backshift and higher top speed ....blueeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee where did u put that post lollllllll
 
Boomer mentioned it in the post..but that thread has dissapeared for some reason.I saved it and went to find it and it was gone.Don't know who was the thread starter,,but they erased it...he did mention that that spring was great and wanted others to chime in..well it sucks..lol

had to be something like that.Only would open up sheaves so much and seemed to have stopped.That spring was hard to install also being longer and was just swearing to try and get it to compress and locked on..Switched to green spring at 70,but don't know if I will get a chance to try it as snow in the ditches is minimal now after the warmth today.River will still be good for a while and cold temps coming back but no new snow anywhere mentioned... :o|
 
so you finally broke out the old beast today. prolay like sex on the beach since ya havent ridden it in almost a year. always a great feeling.

them 8bu's really pull hard but that spring stopped me today... :o| And my steering was hard today..have 6 inch shaper bars and they were just cutting ice all day.Felt like the power steering broke on a vehicle and back to manual..really had to apply pressure to the bars to keep turning..that didn't feel normal

your getting old must be why boomer talk u about the spring he want u to slow down lolll
 
3.5 in tip and 1.5 middle not sure what it will do ...........before i had 4.5 tip and .8 middle sled did 111 112 with a w-w-w ...hope not to loose some mph now it was a funny sled to run but was a little bad for cruising
 
your set are perfect for running corner to corner and great zap blue ...or top end ...not trail friendly for cruising
