I blew the clutch (roller came off and weight cracked the housing) last week on my 97--700 MM.
Does anyone know if a clutch from an 01 MM triple will fit---something about the outer cover being beefed up and slightly different. My old spring is good but one of the weights also broke when it went into the housing. I am trying to buy a bolt on unit that I don't have to swap out parts with.
Also this sled had a newly rebuilt motor and I was turning 8000RPM at 62 MPH---sealevel----I could still rev beyond that. This seems low to me ---what is expected as far as top end on a 97--700 MM that is stock. Thank you

The clutch will bolt right on...use the new cover & use the primary spring that is in that clutch. Sled should run at 8300-8500 rpm.

Is there an advantage to go to the newer clutch---or would I be better trying to find a 97 clutch used. Any sources would be appreciated.
