Thinking about putting a hyfax saver kit on my SRX
Any suggestions on which one?
Does the skid have to come out for install?

I got 1 from kijiji. It was OEM and is good quality.I think they are around $80 approx.Have replaceable bearing. The Max Perf one I had years ago was plastic and non replaceable bearing. There was a way to pop the bearing ..but eventually the bearing flew off the wheel..it all went into the garbage can.

Since the mounting hardware was still ok,Ijust took the upper small idlers from pro action skid and used them in replacement for the plastic ones from MP

You can pickup a kit from a dealer.Like Blue said they are around $80. You do not need to remove the skid to install the kit. Simply need to drill a hole and bolt it in.

I think I have spare aluminum blocks like the other wheels attach with
Can I use those and just buy some wheels?

them blocks are different..don't think they place the wheel in the right position. The marginal wheel kit use's a large diameter bolt to hold their blocks on also..

them front ones use the smaller wheels like the ones up in the tunnel. not sure as im not the maker of these but it looks like the front "w arm" is real close when the suspension is colapsed, so the smaller ones are the only option in that area. normal size wheels would hit when the suspension is colapsed.

true. The upper idler wheels worked good for me on the SRX..I had spare ones from a spare skid and tried them..dead on fit.Bigger wheels would hit when w-arm collapses most probably.

Those are pretty neat
Did you put them on all 4 wheels?
Did you turn them so the wheels moved forward or further down?

that is a different kit. that kit lowers all 4 of the stock outer idlers, then u still need to do something to the 2 in the center to be the same as the outside ones, the other kit goes up front at the bend of the rail and mounts alot lower on the rail and uses them small wheels mentioned above.

Not sure why anyone would spend $80 to fix this problem. Go to the Hauck web site and buy the bushings with the off set hole, only $25. I have had them for over 5000 miles and have had no problems, they are adjustable, require no drilling, and take about 20 minutes to install.

they may be good for the idlers..but again still need the marginal wheel kit to mount up front where rails bend..

Does anyone have the install instructions for the hauck kit or tell me where to drill the mounting hole?

right at the bend of the rails.Usually between where the tip and the first idler is mounted..usually the hyfax wears right there...that is where the marginal wheel should go then.Zoom inon my pic.I actually moved my first idler up and then added the marginal wheel in front of that.I have had no hyfax wear this season with the new hyfax,,specifically at that bend where it always wears.
