What causes this? at the beginning of this year the track would creep a bit then stop creep a bit and stop. Now it spins... I can stop it with my hand, but its a pain when its sitting on the dolly and idling as it will slowly spin the dolly out.

What would be the cause and the fix? any ideas?

Thanks

Nope haven't changed a belt.

Is belt deflection how straight it lines up between the primary and secondary? or how high it sits on the secondary?

CHECK YOUR BELT DEFLECTION. 3:16 (yammie tony)

x2 Also check to make sure you clutches are clean and/ or not worn out, dirty or worn out clutches wont release all the way and can cause them to stick a little

I do remember a bit of oxidation on the primary this fall but i never cleaned it, i figured the belt would take care of it.

Seems to idle pretty well, consistent and sounds good, if I remember correctly around 1400-1500 rpm once warm, a little more when its cold. Top speed is awesome fast still, hole shot is great as well.

Good

If your clutches are aligned and the belt doesn't squeal when the sled is sitting on the ground idling it sounds to me like your belt deflection is spot on! Leave it alone!

leave it..that is fine.Track is supposed to move a little if the clutch's are spot on.Mine turns also..better then i that does not turn..my new Traxtion track was stiff and after 60 miles on it it rotates a tad now..am happy with that.

X2 - should creep a bit with the track off the ground.

Isn't here a center roller bearing on the shaft under the belt of the motor clutch. It should move freely and on some machines its lubricated from the shaft from the motors oil. I haven't looked mine but it doesn't free wheel the track at idle.

Belt deflection must be a little tight, in other words your belt is sitting a little too high in the secondary. I like my track to move some at idle too, but not enough to actually push the dolly out from under the track. The three bolts on the back of the secondary are made to wear, possibly yours have worn down too much. If the washers are on them you can remove them, or just replace the bolts and start over.
