Is ther any difference in quality/function between the M10 Fast supplies to Polaris and the one bought directly from them?

The first year or two were about the same with later versions being changed significantly. They cheapened them up and they don't ride as good and are less aggressive as well. Unless you got a really good deal on one I'd stay away from the later polaris versions.

Think I found a used M10 that was purchased originally directly from Fast
When i go to look at it what should I be looking at to make sure its ok

Another question i have is does the new skid change how the track rides in the tunnel
Do I have to worry about the studs hitting anything

Just look it over good as there a well built skidframe. Look for cracks on the swingarms and be weary of excessive rust. If it has many miles on it you will probably want to have the shocks rebuilt and replace the coupler blocks as they do wear over time. Fast does warn about studs as it uses more space in the the tunnel so check it out closely and make sure your protectors are adequate. Try to get a newer non-metric version as they are better all around. I think the metrics are easily identified with the purple rails and stuff.

As SWEDE said look for a standard if you can or a well taken care of metric. I have the metrics in both sleds without issues the last 5 years, and most all standard parts convert over, including Air Wave shocks.

Nice, how do you like that rear air shock? I talked with Girard Karpik at a snow show this fall and he told me that was the biggest bang for the buck!

It's great and Gerard rocks! 1-2psi adjustmemta males a huge difference and really makes the rear even lighter and even better yet...no shock rebuilds!. I have mine set at 71psi and 69 turns out on the jack, just soaks up the bumps, all up rider weight of 235.
Well I bought it
Looks to be in good shape
Needs a couple idler wheels
Has the Fox remote with the clicker
Embarrassed to say I dont know really what model it is
Its directly from FAST
Supposed to have been purchased in '06

You have the newer standard. An 06 that needs new idlers already, I'd give it a good going over. I check my 98 skid at the begining of every year and have not had a bad one yet...knock on wood...lol
When you get it in, set the track to where it just a couple of turns on the track tensioners above where it doesn't ratchett and get the rx-1 shaft from fast, really simplfies & speeds up installation, because you can use the front stock mount holes. I have it installed on both sleds.

So do I still need to buy the installation kit from Fast designed for my Viper
You will have to excuse me
Very new to this
Just learning as I go

Call them and tell them you want the rx-1 shaft and the rear outside mount plates or you can make a set like I did. You can see it on the tunnel, where the rear skid mounting bolt goes.

This skid was in an RX-1
I wonder if it has this shaft already in it
Anyway to tell?

Should be then...it will be a snug fit and you may have to trim the little flare on the stock tunnel shaft reinforcement plates to slide it in...you will see what I'm talking about when you get in there, takes only a couple minutes to do.
Do you have the bolts for the shafts?

Do you have the bolts for the shafts?
Do they have an allen key head
If so then yes
There are chrome looking collars on the shaft that look like they have been notched to fit
will I need to buy the viper kit to do the rear of the skid ?
Would a picture help identify it ?

no you will not need the viper kit. rx-1 shaft will go into front stock shaft location, rear shaft will be just in front of rear stock location, if have the rear m-10 plates you can use those as a drill guide...should go quick for ya.
